Here is a quick definition of what our hard-working firefighters mean when they say:
“Contained” is the percentage of fire progression that has been stopped from spreading. In other words, when a fire is “25% contained” it means that 25% of the fire perimeter has been secured where the fire has been stopped from spreading.
“Controlled” is where the fire line is established and it is not likely that the fire will escape.
“Out” is when there is no smoke or flair ups.
