10:38 a.m. ROCKPORT FIRE UPDATE

The Rockport Fire, threatening the communities of Rockport Estates, Rockport Ranches, Bridge Hollow and Promontory is estimated at approximately 1,200 – 1,500 acres. Fire suppression operations are being managed by the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands (Summit County Fire Warden and Incident Commander Bryce Boyer). The evacuation of 250 plus homes is still active. Fire managers have confirmed that there have been 13 residences lost, approximately 20 outbuilding and several vehicles.

Current status of evacuations and for a list of neighborhoods that have NOT been affected by the fire please see the list at the following website www.summitwildfires.com. Those seeking information on evacuation status and areas may call Summit County Sheriff’s Office at 435-336-3500.

Firefighting resources include handcrews, structural engines, wildland engines, helicopters, bulldozers and air support. Efforts are being focused on securing the perimeter closest to homes. Fire resources from North Summit Fire District, South Summit Fire District, Park City Fire District, Salt Lake County, Davis County, and Wasatch County are assigned to the incident.
